DUBOIS – Doc G’s held its soft opening on Monday to test out the restaurant side of the new brewpub.
Bartenders, wait staff, managers and the owners, Jeff and Jennifer Gilbert, were on-hand for the occasion.
The other half of the business will include the brewing and distribution of six initial beer varieties.
DuBois was once home to the DuBois Brewery that distributed its beers across the country. The old DuBois Brewery closed its doors in the 1970’s and was torn down in 2003.
Jeff and Jennifer Gilbert hope to bring the spirit of local business and pride back with the official opening of their brewpub.
To quote their official Web site, “Doc G’s Brewing Company was created to get DuBois back to its roots. Doc G’s is a place where great food, beer and friends come together to create a true community gathering center.”
