Michigan Democratic Rep. Sander Levin had a coughing fit in the middle of a House briefing and is being treated by the Capitol Physician’s office for dehydration, according to an aide.
Levin, who is 84 and the top Democrat on the powerful Ways and Means Committee, fainted after his fit, but his aide says he walked out of the hearing room to be checked out by a doctor.
He announced this summer he will seek an 18th term in the House in 2016.
