CLEARFIELD – The Trust Department of Clearfield Bank & Trust Co. has made a $2,000 donation to the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation’s Basic Needs Fund that supports food bank programs throughout Clearfield County.
Each January money from this fund is distributed to food banks, such as the Burnside/Mahaffey Food Pantry, Curwensville Food Pantry, Clearfield Ministerium Food Pantry, Living Bread Ministries in Clearfield, Kitchen of Care in Clearfield, DuBois Ministerium Food Pantry, DuBois Salvation Army, Houtzdale Community Action, Karthaus Food Pantry, Osceola Mills Food Pantry, West Branch/Allport Food Pantry and Westover Food Pantry.
This fund was established in 2011 through a gift from the Peirce Park Group, an investment consulting firm based in West Chester. Peirce Park was working in Clearfield County and wished to make a local charitable contribution to address basic needs, with a focus on hunger related issues. They were referred to the foundation and the fund was established.
The funds are distributed in January because the post holiday time is a difficult one for the food banks. Donations of both money and food are often scarce at that time.
Anyone wishing to support the Basic Needs Fund as a part of your Christmas charity giving can make a donation through Paypal at the CCCF’s Web site www.Clearfieldcharitablefoundation.org or donations can be mailed to: P.O. Box 1442, Clearfield PA 16830.
