Matthew M. Sabol II, of Morrisdale and residing in Williamsport, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015 in Kylertown.
Born Jan. 4, 1991 in Clearfield, he was the son of the Matthew M. and Victoria Hoover Sabol of Morrisdale.
He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Hawk Run, where he’d served as an altar boy.
Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his large, loving family and close friends and vacationing at the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
Mr. Sabol was a 2009 graduate of the West Branch High School with high honors. He earned an Associate’s degree in applied science.
Also, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in electronics and computer engineering technology with a minor in mathematics from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2013, where he graduated with high honors.
He was employed in the IT Department at Benton Foundry. While he was in high school, he loved to football and track and field. He also loved spending time outdoors.
Mr. Sabol is survived by two sisters, Julia A. Whipple and her husband, Donald of Williamsport and Regina “Gina” Jones and her husband, Nathan of Morrisdale; a niece, Hattie Jones; and a nephew, Hutch Jones.
He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Mary Regina Hoover of Karthaus and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peter and Anna Sabol and his maternal grandfather, Hugh Hoover.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Hawk Run, with Father William Rupp as celebrant with Deacon Dennis Prestash.
Burial will be in the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hawk Run.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Sunday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale. A Parastas service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial donations can be made to the Matthew Sabol Scholarship Fund at a later date.
