Seven people are feared dead after a sightseeing helicopter crashed in New Zealand, police said.
“It is believed two were Australians and four were from the United Kingdom,” police said in a statement. It did not give the pilot’s nationality.
The helicopter went down Saturday on Fox glacier, a popular tourist destination on the nation’s south island.
The glacier’s in a remote location, and recovery of the bodies could take a number of days, police said. Next of kin are being notified.
Bad weather was hampering the recovery effort and teams were on standby, police said Sunday morning.
