Alice Jane Williams, 74, of Gearhartville died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Mrs. Williams was born June 7, 1941 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late W. Benjamin and Aldean R. (Ritchie) Hughes.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Philipsburg and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a 1959 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School and a 1963 graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in education.
Mrs. Williams was an elementary school teacher for all her working life. After graduation from college, she began teaching in the Linglestown school system.
She then taught school in the Clearfield school system for a few years until accepting a position at the Moshannon Valley Elementary School, where she taught first grade for 39 years until her retirement.
She married Kenneth I. Williams, who survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. Williams and his fiancée, Kristy of Curwensville.
At Mrs. Williams’ request, there will be no public funeral service or visitation. Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
