Some of entertainment’s brightest stars will help celebrate the 2015 “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute,” including Neil Patrick Harris, Taylor Schilling, Common, Kelly Ripa, Kathy Griffin, Sharon Stone, Chris Noth and Zachary Quinto.
Hosted in New York by Anderson Cooper and broadcast globally at 8 p.m. ET on CNN on Sunday, December 6, the event honors everyday people making extraordinary contributions around the world.
The show will reveal CNN’s Hero of the Year, chosen by CNN’s audience in an online vote. The Hero of the Year will receive $100,000 for his or her cause. That’s in addition to the $10,000 each hero receives just for making the Top 10.
“We are thrilled that it is once again that time of year to celebrate individuals that are making extraordinary contributions to improve the lives of others and the world around them,” said Jeff Zucker, president of CNN Worldwide. “It is a fitting salute to all of the heroes worldwide and the differences they have made in the lives of others.”
This year’s Top Ten Heroes include a wide variety of people working in several nations to help others. Some work to help communities. Some reach out to children. Others offer aid to people who are sick or in need of support services. Together, they demonstrate their dedication to the idea that improving the world is about getting involved and taking action.
During the ceremony, celebrity presenters will join Top 10 Heroes on stage to share their inspirational stories about the important work they do. Musical performers will include soul, R&B and jazz singer Andra Day, who will perform her widely hailed song “Rise Up.”
Also, singer and actress Victoria Justice, actor Jacob Tremblay of “Room” and YouTube vlogger Bethany Mota will recognize three young adults who are being honored by CNN as Young Wonders.

Supporters of the Top Ten CNN Heroes may make a direct charitable donation to their designated nonprofits by using Amazon Payments through December 31.
Since 2006, the Peabody Award-winning, Emmy-nominated event has profiled more than 250 heroes and has received more than 50,000 nominations from more than 100 countries.
