The news that Halle Berry is divorcing actor Olivier Martinez has brought out her ex-husbands.
Berry’s first husband, David Justice, reportedly tweeted “Yup..Me,Eric (Benet), Gabriel (Aubry) and Olivier were all her ‘Knight in Shining Armor’,until it ends..Then we all become the worst guys in history.”
Justice, a former baseball player who was married to the actress from 1992 to 1997, was referencing her second husband, singer Eric Benet, to whom she was married from 2001 to 2005; and model Gabriel Aubry, who has a daughter with the actress.
Martinez and Berry, who wed in 2013, have a young son.
After tweeting about Berry’s child custody battle with Aubry and how “Only the guys in the relationship with Halle know the real deal,” Justice deleted some of his tweets, but not before Benet co-signed the sentiments: “My man at @23davidjustice is tweeting some truth dis’ mornin’!”
Some of Justice’s tweets referenced speculation over a man in Berry’s past who she had reportedly said beat her to the point of hearing loss in one of her ears.
He thanked Berry for clearing up the rumor that he was her abuser.
Justice tweeted that Berry had never publicly named him as the man who assaulted her. Berry has not publicly commented on either Justice or Benet’s tweets or the domestic violence allegation.
Justice told “Access Hollywood” that he is “not trying to be the voice of Halle’s exes. What I was trying to do is let everybody understand that I am in the community coaching kids from baseball to basketball to football.”
“I’m trying to be a role model, and I don’t want these kids and my kids’ friends reading (reports) and then everyone looking at me like, ‘I didn’t know Coach did that to some woman,’ ” he said. “I don’t want parents going, ‘I didn’t know my kid’s coach did that to some woman.’ “
