If you’re in need of a last-minute Halloween costume, CNN Politics has you covered with our guide to creating five politics-related costumes with minimal effort.
Donald Trump and his billions
People have been dressing up as the billionaire businessman for years, but in light of his highly publicized presidential run, Halloween stores have been overflowing with Donald Trump wigs and masks — even in Mexico.
But, as one Twitter user points out, what is The Donald without his billions?
Donald Trump:
– A blond wig — available at Halloween and party stories
– A suit (optional)
– A red tie
– A “Make America Great Again” hat, which you can make yourself, unless you’ve already snagged one from the candidate’s campaign store
Trump’s billions:
– Green leggings or pants
– Green shirt
– Monopoly money to tape all over
‘Superman’ Jeb
In a memorable moment at a campaign event in Miami last month, Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush unbuttoned his shirt to reveal his political heroes: Ronald Reagan and his father, George H.W. Bush.
The scene — complete with an American flag in the background — starkly resembled a scene from “Superman.”
‘Superman’ Jeb:
– White button-down shirt
– Blue jeans
– Bush-Reagan ’84 T-shirt — you can make one yourself if you don’t own this retro item
– Glasses
‘POTUS West’
In a candid acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, rapper Kanye West concluded his remarks by announcing a 2020 presidential bid.
“It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth,” West said. “And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
“POTUS West”:
– A tan T-shirt
– Shutter shades, circa Kanye 2007
– A presidential seal chain — you can make the seal out of cardboard and attach it to a gold chain
Hillary Clinton and her server
While it may be difficult to find items lying around your house to dress up as an actual computer server, you can improvise in this couples costume by dressing up as Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and an actual restaurant server.
Hillary Clinton:
– A pantsuit, of course
– A Blackberry
– Sunglasses to be worn indoors
Server:
– White shirt
– Black pants or skirt
– A serving tray
‘Notorious RBG’
And finally, in what quickly became a classic political Halloween costume last year, “Notorious RBG” is back. The costume is a play on The Notorious B.I.G. and the book “Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.”
People of any age can dress up as the 82-year-old Supreme Court justice.
Notorious RBG:
– A black robe
– A white scarf
– Large, black-rimmed glsses
– A Notorious B.I.G.-style crown — a Burger King paper crown would work
