Mike Huckabee dismissed the idea that there are too many Republican presidential candidates, calling the GOP the “Golden Corral of political food options.”
“It seems to me that people would be delighted that Republicans have a whole buffet,” he said on ABC’s “The View.” “I mean, we are Golden Corral of politics today, and the Democrats are the plate lunch special — ‘You take what we serve you, hope you like it.'”
“The GOP is the ‘Golden Corral’ of political food options. Voters have lots to choose from. Democrats have a one-plate special,” he added.
If elected, he told the hosts he’d significantly fund research to find cures to illnesses to cut Medicare costs. The majority of Medicare costs deal with cancer, heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease, he said.
“Cures to diseases, not cuts to #Medicare, will save lives, families, & our country from bankruptcy,” he tweeted after the show.
