James J. Dezack Sr., 70, of DuBois died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 10, 1945 in St. Marys, he was the son of the late Joseph Dezack and Lena (Ruberto) Dezack.
He retired from the former Curwensville State Bank after more than 20 years of service in the collections office. Prior to that, he had worked at DuBois Consumer Discount.
He was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
He enjoyed following sports, especially football and baseball. He was a pioneer of fantasy sports leagues in the DuBois area in the 1980’s. He also was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his son, James M. Dezack Jr. of DuBois and a sister, Dr. Margaret Dezack Stengel, Ph.D. and her husband, Ronald of Valley Forge.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Lawrence.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mark’s Cemetery in Emporium.
