Edna Cathryn Dunkle, 92, of Philipsburg and formerly of Morrisdale died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015 at Windy Hill Village of Presbyterian Homes.
Born Feb. 22, 1923 in Morgan Run, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Hudson and Minnie Belinda Waple Mason.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Philipsburg. She was a 1941 graduate of the Clearfield High School and a homemaker.
Mrs. Dunkle enjoyed gardening, reading, sitting on her porch, jelly making and her grandchildren.
She was married to Blaine J. Dunkle on Oct. 17, 1942 in Hagerstown, Md. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1976.
She is survived by a daughter, Tracy Massaglia of Philipsburg and a son, Richard Dunkle and his wife, Mary of Boalsburg.
Mrs. Dunkle is survived by a sister, Campsey Richner of Houtzdale and two brothers, the Rev. James Mason of Walnut Grove, Ohio and Leslie Mason of Harrisburg.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Richard Lebron, Rodney (Mary Ann) Lebron, Ryan Lebron, Michelle (Scott) Graff and Michael Dunkle and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Graff.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dunkle was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lebron, a sister, Mildred Smeal and two brothers, Charles and Roy Mason.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale, with the Rev. Dr. Dean Lindsay officiating.
Burial will be at the Summit Hill United Methodist Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
