CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced the voluntary surrender of a wanted fugitive.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Ernest Moore, 51, of Main Street, Troutville. Moore was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list Sept. 28.
On April 20, Officer Greg Gornati of the Sandy Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint against Moore. He charged Moore with driving under the influence of alcohol, M.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 2, Gornati received a report about a vehicle that may have struck another one and a guiderail.
Upon arrival at the scene, Gornati allegedly observed a vehicle resting against the guiderail. It was running and very loud music was playing while the operator allegedly appeared to be sleeping inside.
Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Moore, signs of impairment were detected by police. Moore was then transported to Penn Highlands for blood testing.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 22, at which time all charges were held to court. On Sept. 3, Moore failed to appear at Criminal Call, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Shaw stated that on Sept. 29, Moore voluntarily surrendered himself to deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance with this case.
