Armenta J. “Keppy” Kephart, 96, of Clearfield died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 at Mountain Laurel Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 23, 1919 in Egypt, Pa., the daughter of the late Thomas and Beatrice (Cupler) Graham.
Mrs. Kephart had been employed at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center as a nurse’s aide for nearly 20 years until her retirement in 1991. She was also a homemaker.
She attended the Clearfield Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
Her survivors include four children, Faith C. Gillen and her husband, William J. Gillen II of Curwensville, Hope A. Southwell of Katy, Texas, Les J. Kephart and his wife, Lois of Morrisdale and Charity S. Taylor of Clearfield.
Her survivors also include grandchildren, William J. Gillen III, Matthew M. Gillen, Stephanie Southwell, Christine Southwell, William Southwell, Jamie Lynn Southwell, Joshua Kephart, Brent Kephart, AshLee Taylor and Nathaniel Taylor; her 10 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jean Litz and her husband, James of Santee, SC and Geraldine McCracken and her husband, William of Smithton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mearl J. Kephart, to whom she was married Oct. 14, 1940 and whom died May 21, 1974; her sisters and brothers, Murriel Hugney, Orvis Graham, Dwight Graham, Stanley Graham, Burton Graham and Wesley Graham; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home with Dr. Duane White officiating. Burial will be at Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
