Jean Lee Bloom, 81, of Curwensville died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 at the Elmcroft Senior Living Center in State College after a lengthy illness.
Born Aug. 18, 1934 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Rowles) Price. She had first worked for the shirt factory in Clearfield but was retired from the former Clearfield Cheese Co. in Curwensville.
She was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church. She had also been a Girl Scout and Brownie Scout leader. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and also golfing, bowling and gardening. She was also a breast cancer survivor.
On Dec. 4, 1954 in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield, she wed Gordon L. Bloom, who survives along with four children, Gordon Bloom and his wife, Janice of Curwensville, Dennis Bloom of Grampian, Brett Bloom and his wife, Dawn of Mt. Pocono, and Jeanne Bloom and her partner, Betsy Brown of Kittanning.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Aubrie, Justin, Teague, Kristi, Amber, Brett Jr., and Travis , eight great-grandchildren Mia, Brett III, Connor, Carter, Willow, Alaina, Elise and Harper and three sisters, Dorothy Verdecchia of Florida, Donna McCracken of Curry Run and Beverly Lanich of Bloomington.
A memorial service for Mrs. Bloom will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with Mr. Gary B. Jewart officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
