CLEARFIELD – Dennis L. Merrey, chairman of the board of CNB Financial Corp. and CNB Bank, announced the appointment of Peter C. Varischetti, president of Varischetti Holdings LP, to the corporation’s board of directors and to the board of CNB Bank.
As a business and community leader, Varischetti will apply his expertise in business enterprise to provide leadership and guidance to the corporation as CNB Bank continues to develop in North Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Mr. Varischetti to CNB. His accomplishments with the various Varischetti enterprises speak for themselves. His business acumen, industry diversification and entrepreneurial experience will bring significant value to the corporation and CNB Bank,” stated Merrey.
Varischetti Holdings LP is a family-owned and operated organization consisting of several different businesses, including real estate investments, a powder metal manufacturing business, a construction equipment dealership, an oil and gas field services company and consultation for the waste industry.
Varischetti is also a shareholder, director and officer of Guardian Elder Care Holdings Inc., a healthcare company with more than 30 facilities located in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. Guardian’s contributions to elder care also include a rehabilitation services business, a long-term care pharmacy and a home health company.
Additionally, Varischetti is the president of Varischetti Sports LLC, which owns a minority interest in the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Varischetti’s established corporations foster advancing careers for more than 4,000 employees.
An involved community member, Varischetti serves as chairman of the Brockway Schools and Community Education Foundation and the Brockway Center for Arts & Technology.
He recently concluded a three-year appointment as chairman of the board of directors for DuBois Area Catholic Schools and remains an active board member. He also serves on the Parish Finance Council of St. Tobias Church.
Varischetti serves on the board of directors for the Frank Varischetti Foundation, partnering with family members to award grant funding for this philanthropic endeavor that carries on the legacy of his late father and focuses on enhancing public welfare and community progress, primarily in Brockway and the surrounding area.
Varischetti is a member of the board of trustees for the University of Pittsburgh and serves on the Budget Committee and the Property and Facilities Committee. He also chairs the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Board of Visitors.
A native of Brockway, Varischetti earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992. He currently resides in Brockway with his wife, Sharon, and three children, Francesca, Joseph and Johnny.
