BREAKING: Police Investigating Homicide in DuBois

DuBois Area Schools were put on lockdown this morning. “It is a precautionary measure due to an incident that occurred in the city,” said a DASD spokesperson.

DUBOIS – Police have initiated an investigation into a criminal homicide that occurred early this morning in DuBois City, according to Clearfield County 911 Coordinator Jeremy Ruffner.

County Dispatch received an “open call” from a cell phone at 2:46 a.m., he said. He noted that the dispatcher used their training, experience and “excellent dispatch sense” to trace the call, pinpoint the caller’s location and to alert police of the location.

Ruffner declined to provide the address information, saying the criminal homicide incident is still being investigated by DuBois City police. The suspect has not been apprehended yet, he said.

DuBois City police said the department wasn’t prepared to release any information at this time.
