Carol L. Thompson, 69, of Philipsburg and formerly of Osceola Mills and Houtzdale, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born Nov. 11, 1945 in Osceola Mills, she was a daughter of the late Andrew “Katz” and Catherine (Habasevich) Kisinkie.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills.
She was a 1962 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School.
She had worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources. She later was employed as a unit clerk with the Philipsburg Area Hospital. She was most currently employed with Pyramid Health Care of Altoona.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex John Thompson, and a sister, Mary Ann Simler.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by two daughters, Lisa Maines and her husband, Walter of Philipsburg and Stephanie Kopchik and her husband, Mark of Philipsburg and two sons, Patrick Thompson and his wife, Amy of Morrisdale and John Thompson and his wife, Angie of Woodland.
She is survived by a sister, Janet Flegal of Altoona. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Lindsy Maines of Philipsburg; Parkar and Camden Kopchik of Philipsburg; Brittany Thompson and her fiancé, Shane Yarger of Kylertown; Nicholas Thompson of Morrisdale; Madisyn and Makenzie Thompson of Woodland; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg. The rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
