While most CNN employees in Simi Valley for Wednesday’s two presidential debates flew across the country, I bought a train ticket.
And, after 44 hours, I finally arrived.
As we cut across a corner of Iowa and swept through Kansas’ cornfields, New Mexico’s mountains, Arizona’s vistas and into Southern California, I asked my fellow passengers about the state of the presidential race and what they make of the Republican field of candidates — including, of course, Donald Trump.
The answers, like the candidates, are colorful.
