State police at DuBois
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Monday on Dutch Road in Brady Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged property at the victim’s residence. The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
- An accident occurred Monday on the Bennetts Valley Highway in Huston Township. A vehicle was traveling north when a seven-point buck entered into its path. The vehicle subsequently struck the deer, and its operator drove off of the roadway.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between July 15 and Aug. 15 on Burge Street in Decatur Township. During the incident, the victim allegedly attempted to purchase a mobile game app from E-Bay for $800. The victim’s account was allegedly debited in that amount; however, the account information wasn’t ever forwarded. The incident was reported to the state police in Philipsburg but transferred to the state police at Clearfield for a follow-up investigation.
- An incident of harassment/drug possession occurred Monday on Smith Street in Rush Township. During the incident, the actor and victim allegedly engaged in a physical altercation. Upon arrival state police allegedly found the actor in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and taken to the Centre County Correctional Facility. He was arraigned with his bail set at $5,000 straight, and a preliminary hearing to be held Sept. 16.
- An incident of public drunkenness occurred Wednesday in the area of Front and East Pine streets in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a male was allegedly found passed out on a bench. He was allegedly found to be under the influence of marijuana and cited for the incident.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a traffic complaint for a motorist who was reportedly driving all over the roadway. Further, police determined that the motorist was OK.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of sexual harassment that occurred at a school.
- Police received a report about several alleged retail thefts that occurred at a local business.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle Wednesday in the area of East Long Avenue and Rose Alley. A caller told police a Jeep was being driven around the block, and its headlights were turned off. Upon arrival to the scene, police found the operator of the Jeep was waiting for his girlfriend.
- While on patrol Wednesday, police allegedly heard a female from a block away on West Long Avenue. Police located the female in a parked vehicle and learned she’d engaged in an argument with her boyfriend over the phone. Police asked the female to not argue in public and to lower her voice.
- Police received a report about an unwanted person Wednesday on South Franklin Street. Upon arrival police found the person had already left. Police made contact with the person and asked them not to return.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident Wednesday at the intersection of Liberty Boulevard and Park Avenue. Further, a vehicle operated by a Reynoldsville woman reportedly rear-ended another vehicle operated by a Big Run woman. Police determined that the accident wasn’t reportable, and assisted with information exchange. No injuries were reported, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance Wednesday in the 600 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival police made contact with the victim who was allegedly bleeding from her mouth. She told police that her husband had struck her. Officers then arrested David Olewinski, 47, of DuBois for simple assault and harassment. He was on Clearfield County Probation and transported to the jail to await arraignment. Police said the female was also cited for harassment.
- Police received a report about an alleged fight, which involved six kids Wednesday at the City Park near the YMCA. Upon arrival police checked the area with negative contact with anyone fighting. Kids who were in the city park were asked to leave the area, police said.
Decatur Township
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on Brisbin Street in Houtzdale. Police cleared the call after a female agreed to leave the residence.
- Police received a report about a psychological emergency involving a handgun in Decatur Township. A male was apprehended and taken to the hospital without further incident, police said.
- Morris-Cooper police were assisted with a wanted male at the Flat Run Speedway. Police learned there were two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.
- Clearfield-based state police were assisted with a possible dog being locked in a motor vehicle at the Hometown Market. Police were unable to locate the dog or the vehicle.
- Police received a report about a suspicious male near the Dollar General in Osceola Mills. However, the male wasn’t located upon police arrival to the scene.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Dinky and Copelin roads. No injuries were reported; both vehicles weren’t drivable, police said.
