Robert L. LaBorde, 68, of Sykesville died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at his home. Born Feb. 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Lucena M. (Dixon) LaBorde.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War.
On Oct. 25, 1969, he married Patricia A. (Himes) LaBorde. She survives.
He was the supervisor of the security department for 20 years at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was the owner of LaBorde’s Outdoor Bait Shop in Sykesville. He enjoyed his family and was Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his children, Robin Feldman of DuBois and Paul LaBorde and his wife, Sharon of Sykesville; his daughter-in-law, Tonya Knisely of Reynoldsville; a sister, Gertrude Yohe of New York; two brothers, Walter J. LaBorde and his wife, Jane and Richard LaBorde and his wife, Juanita, both of Sykesville; and eight grandchildren, Shawn, Samantha, Tye and Kiera LaBorde and Ryan, Derrick, Nathan and Sophie Feldman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Adam M. LaBorde.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A ritual service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Fr. Daniel Kresinski officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard at the funeral home.
