Corner Concert Series
Downtown Clearfield
Dennis Wood, Eric Elensky, Don Beauseigneur, Jason Sopic and Zach Wood have joined forces to create a Beatles tribute band that will entertain at the next Corner Concert in Shaw Park in downtown Clearfield.
“’A Night with the Beatles’ will take you back to the good ‘ole days of rock ‘n roll, where you’ll remember and sing along to your favorite songs that are still as popular today as they were in the 60’s and 70’s,” said Steve Albert, concert organizer.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Aug. 28. Donations will be collected for the Special Olympics of Clearfield County.

Join us as we learn about the different species of turtles that inhabit Pennsylvania and Elk Country. This exciting presentation will teach about the Midland Painted Turtle, the Wood Turtle, the Spotted Turtle, and several others. This interactive presentation lets you take an up-close look at our live Eastern Box Turtles and feel the shells of a Snapping turtle.
McGarry Celebration Concert
Grampian Community Park
Community members are welcomed to join at a concert Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grampian Community Park for an evening of celebrating the recent release of Megan McGarry’s debut album.
This is a free concert featuring Megan, as well as special guests “The Dusty Trout” and “Co Townes.” The concert will be held rain or shine.
Food will be available and it’ll benefit the Grampian Fire Department. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair to the concert.
The evening of the concert, organizers will be giving away four tickets for the 2016 Smoked Country Jam bluegrass music festival in Cross Fork.
SCJ is one of Pennsylvania’s premier music festivals. These tickets are full festival passes for all music and camping for four days in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds.
Organizers will also be giving away items from Straub Brewery, Benezette Wines and Starr Hill Winery.

Central Pennsylvania Civil War Round Table Series Pot Luck Picnic will be on “Myth’s About Lee’s Surrender.” Author and Appomattox Courthouse Historian Patrick Schroeder will discuss Robert E. Lee’s surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia to Lt. General Ulysses S. Grant’s Army of the Potomac at Appomattox Courthouse 150 years ago.
