CLEARFIELD – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation advises motorists that they could encounter lane restrictions along sections of Interstate 80 in Clearfield and Clinton counties through September.
Work will begin Monday in Clearfield County, as crews work to apply a high friction surface treatment. The treatment will be applied to the roadway surface at half-mile sections near mile-marker 119 eastbound and westbound. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction at the work location.
Once application is complete in Clearfield County, crews will move to Clinton County and apply the treatment eastbound and westbound at mile-marker 190. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction at the work location.
PennDOT expects application work to be done by the end of September, with some clean-up work possible in October. Weekend work is likely but no lane restrictions will be in place over the Labor Day holiday weekend, Sept. 4-8.
Ram Construction Services of Livonia, Mich. is the contractor for this $623,000 job.
All work will take place during daylight hours and drivers will be advised of the work zones through the use of roadway signing and message boards. Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, move through work zones with caution, and always buckle up.
