What do you get when you mix two of the coolest and most beloved female celebrities?
Hopefully a great movie.
According to the New York Times, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer have teamed up to write a screenplay in which they star as sisters.
“Amy and I were creatively made for each other,” Lawrence told the Times. “We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life.”
Lawrence said the pair are almost done the script and that “It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.”
Apparently, like so many new fans, Lawrence said she became enamored of Schumer after seeing her film “Trainwreck.”
“I emailed her after I saw ‘Trainwreck’ and said, ‘I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you,'” Lawrence said. “We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting.”
From there, a friendship was born, which has delighted the Internet thanks to the photos Schumer has posted of her and her new-found friend’s vacation together.
Lawrence may has spoken too soon about the project, but told the Times that Schumer took it in her stride.
“I wrote, ‘I just spilled the beans to the New York Times. Is that OK?'” Lawrence said. “And Amy wrote back, ‘That you’re gay? Totally! It’s exciting!'”
