Allo, ‘Allo Comes to America!

Brit-Com Fans, rejoice! ‘Allo, ‘Allo comes to America! The Reitz is one of a handful of American theaters to present this stage production of the popular BBC television show for the Summer production. Set in France during World War 2, it follows the adventures of cafe owner Rene, as he balances serving German soldiers with assisting the French Resistance repatriate two British Airmen hidden in his cellar. All this is while maintaining affairs with both his serving girls under the eye of his tone-deaf singing wife Edith. It’s a mix of Monty Python and Hogan’s Heroes, making it one of the most popular Brit-Coms of all time.

Penn State DuBois Golf Outing

The seventh annual Penn State DuBois Athletics Golf Benefit is planned for Aug. 22, at DuBois Country Club. Sponsored by the DuBois Educational Foundation, all proceeds will directly benefit campus intercollegiate athletic programs. The event will be a four-person scramble with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Entry fees are $75 per person, and $300 per team. Entry includes green fee, cart, breakfast, lunch, on-course beverages, skill prizes, and team awards. Dam Scramble

The Dam Scramble is an endurance trail challenge at the Curwensville Lake Recreation Area. There are three, different courses – 16-mile, 11-mile or 5K on single-track trails through the woods with views of the lake. There is a mandatory pre-race meeting at 8:20 a.m. Aug. 22 at Pavilion 2. Participants who run in the 16-mile and 11-mile courses will start at 8:30 a.m. and the 5k runners will start shortly after. We’ll take seven of the skills taught earlier and let all participants compete…for fun of course. You can get scored on archery, atlatl throwing, using a bolas, starting a matchless fire, throwing a spear, using a sling and sling-staff.
