Rosaline C. Ianaro, 98, formerly of Clearfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio.
She was born May 10, 1917 in Philipsburg, the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Balistrere.
She was a 1935 graduate of Philipsburg High School. She retired in 1984 after 20 years in food service with the Clearfield District School System in Clearfield.
She was a member of the St. William Catholic Church in Champion, Ohio, and a former member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
She was devoted to the Catholic faith and recited the rosary daily. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and was an excellent cook.
Her husband of 55 years, Tony C. “Fats” Ianaro, to whom she was married Nov. 28, 1935, preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1990.
Two great-grandchildren, six sisters, Lena Spingola, Providence “Prudy” Cello, Mary Buchignani, Josephine Holmes and infant sisters, Pauline and Frances and three brothers, Charles, Tony and Frank Balistrere also have preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Rita (Vince) DeSalvo of Champion, Ohio, and three sons, Joseph (Janet) Ianaro of Windham, Ohio, Leo Ianaro of Summerfield, Fla., and Glenn Ianaro of Pittsburgh.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Barbara (Marc) Streem, Diane (Jim) Orban, Scott Ianaro, Craig (Eva) Ianaro, Vince (Theresa) DeSalvo, Robin (Leon) Walk and Glenn and Jennifer Ianaro; 13 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. William Catholic Church in Champion, Ohio, with the Rev. Michael Balash celebrating the Mass.
Graveside services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, at the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield, with Father John Miller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. William Church building fund, 5431 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, OH 44483.
