Robert L. Gormont, 72, of Clearfield died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015. He was born Jan. 30, 1943, the son of Russell and Hazel (Luzier) Gormont.
Mr. Gormont had worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was then a self-employed contractor. He was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Clearfield.
Mr. Gormont is survived by two sons and a daughter, Terry A. Gormont and his wife, Lisa, Timothy L. Gormont and his wife, Cecelia and Michelle N. Canter and her husband, Chuck and a daughter-in-law, Ricki Gormont, all of Clearfield.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Emily Gormont, Benjamin Gormont, Jonathan Gormont, Cassandra Miller, Timothy Gormont Jr., Kaitlin Canter, Julie Canter, Tyler Canter, Erin Gormont and Robert Gormont and one great-grandson, Carter Gormont.
He was the last member of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda D. (McClincy) Gormont, to whom he was married on March 3, 1962 and whom died Oct. 20, 2013; a son, Robert L. Gormont Jr.; a granddaughter, Abigail Gormont; and a brother, Johnny Gormont.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with the Rev. Mark Mastrian officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
