CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield school board voted to accept the resignation of board member Rod Rishel during a special meeting on Monday night.
Board members Mary Anne Jackson, Larry Putt, Phil Carr, Tim Morgan, Gail Ralston and Dr. Michael Spencer all voted in favor.
Board members Jennifer Wallace and Susan Mikesell were both absent. Rishel was not present during the board meeting.
When asked by GantDaily after the special meeting, Superintendent Terry Struble said that Rishel resigned for “personal” reasons.
Jackson said the board has 30 days from Rishel’s notice of resignation to fill his vacant seat. She said Rishel had submitted notice about two weeks ago.
Struble said anyone interested in filling the board seat should submit a letter of interest to the district by 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17.
The individual who is selected to fill Rishel’s board seat will serve through this November’s General Election, explained Jackson.
