CLEARFIELD – Cassidy Bowman attended the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center (CCCTC) in 2014-15 in the Cosmetology program.
During her nine months at CCCTC, she learned all she needed to know to have a job waiting for her at Taffy Salon & Spa in Clearfield upon graduation.
During her time at CCCTC, She participated in SkillsUSA district and state competitions. Bowman says that the time at CCCTC has prepared her for her career by learning about professionalism and feeling confident about what she was doing.
Dana Timko, owner of Taffy Salon & Spa, said she hires CCCTC graduates because she knows they will have the skills and knowledge to work in the salon atmosphere immediately upon starting. She also mentioned that the students she hires are professional and have a diverse knowledge of the beauty industry.
Bowman is only one example of how CCCTC graduates use their education to strengthen the industry in their field of study, said CCCTC officials.
