GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Grand Junction reliever Chad Zurat of Clearfield got back on track with a hitless, scoreless three-inning stint albeit in a 4-1 loss to Missoula in Pioneer Rookie League action with 2,203 looking on at Sam Suplizio Field Saturday night.
With the Rockies trailing 4-0, the right-hander struck out the side, all swinging, in the fifth inning and added a fourth punch-out in the seventh. He issued two walks.
Zurat had given up at least one run in his last 10 outings, though solo runs in two games were unearned.
The struggling Rockies have lost six games in a row for a 2-7 start in the second half and are 22-25 overall.
Zurat is 2-3 with one hold in 13 appearances, including five starts.
He has pitched 36.1 innings, second most among the 22 hurlers who have taken the mound for the Rockies, with 15 strikeouts, 13 walks and three hit batsmen.
He has allowed 46 hits and 25 runs, 18 earned for an ERA of 4.46.
