William L. Mauthe, 86, of DuBois died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born May 9, 1929 in Clarion County, he was the son of the late Edward and Mabel (Johnson) Mauthe.
On Aug. 14, 1954, he married Shirley (Lewin) Mauthe. She survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was a certified public accountant for 60 years. He worked for himself and was a partner in the accounting firm of Mauthe, Yutzey and Gabler.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuBois. He loved to fish, hunt and camp. He also enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by two children, Kimberly D. Sedlacko and her husband, Jerry of North Huntingdon and William J. Mauthe and his companion, Tina of DuBois; a brother, Donald F. Mauthe and his wife, Amy of Corsica; and a granddaughter, Krysten Mauthe of DuBois.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Mauthe and two sisters, Olive Pasquarette and Mae Hamilton.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Lance Tucker officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
