KYLERTOWN – Organizers of the annual Kylertown Community Festival are gearing up for this family-friendly event, which is being held this year on Aug. 15.
The festival will kick off with a parade at 10 a.m. The first portion of the parade will be a “pet parade,” featuring area residents with their pets. Immediately following the pets will be a traditional parade with fire trucks, flats and more.
The parade will assemble at the Kylertown Presbyterian Cemetery, which is located opposite of the shopping plaza on Rolling Stone Road.
Its route leaves from the cemetery down Rolling Stone Road and turns left at Second Street. It follows Second Street to Kyler Lane, where it turns right and ends at the Kylertown Athletic Fields.
The festival will open at 9 a.m. as will the concession stand at the athletic field. The concession stand will be open throughout the festival, which will also feature games, a flea market and entertainment.
The Kylertown Community Association uses the funds raised from the festival for a variety of community projects within Kylertown.
The association helps maintain the Kylertown Athletic Fields, which is home to the Kylertown Little League Baseball program. The funds raised directly affect the association’s ability to maintain and make improvements to the facilities.
