DUBOIS – The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group (DDRG) has organized a “Large Item Pick-Up” for Aug. 15 in the City of DuBois.
This project was designed to help city residents who are unable to dispose of large items, such as furniture, appliances and similar household or yard items, that can’t be picked up curbside.
The goal is to help the city with its initiative to keep properties in compliance with various codes and community standards. Items should be at the curb no later than 8 a.m.
On a related note, all residents are encouraged to utilize the city Dumpster Day the first Wednesday of every month (Aug. 5 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.). This service is provided by the City of DuBois and Advanced Disposal.
If you can’t use this service, please call DDRG to get on the list for a pick-up. Items are restricted to no more than what can fit in an average pick-up truck and lifted by a couple of people.
A donation envelope will be left at each stop, as this is both a community service and a way to help fund the many programs the Downtown Group has developed.
Partners in this effort are the City of DuBois, Advanced Disposal, Krentzman Scrap Yard, Miller Bros. Furniture and Lezzer Lumber.
Please call Julie Stewart at 814-591-2570 to register. You must be an Advanced Disposal customer and your property must be in the City of DuBois.
