DUBOIS – A DuBois man accused of showing online pornographic videos to a teen girl, as well as having sexual contact and taking an inappropriate picture of her waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday during Centralized Court at Pat Ford’s office.
Jarrod Morgan Gesin, 36, of DuBois has been charged with photograph/film/depict on computer sex act/knowingly or permitting child; child pornography; corruption of minors; and indecent assault. His bail has been set at $25,000.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, DuBois City police received a report about an alleged sexual assault from a teen girl on Feb. 15. The day before, she alleged that she was alone in the living area with Gesin watching television when he brought up the topic of pornography and asked if she watched any.
Gesin allegedly accessed pornographic Web sites on his cell phone and showed videos to the girl. She told police that Gesin was mostly watching the videos while she was trying to watch a movie on television. She also told police that Gesin showed her images, which allegedly contained nudity, of his “online girlfriend” from his cell phone.
According to the girl, Gesin allegedly talked inappropriately to her. She also alleged that he took an inappropriate picture of her, as well as had sexual contact with her during the incident.
Police obtained and executed a search warrant, seizing a phone, charger and cable from Gesin’s room. Gesin asked police if he could show them the pictures on his phone, as believed he knew why they were seizing it.
During an interview with police, Gesin allegedly admitted to watching pornographic videos from Web sites while at the house. However, he claimed that he stopped when the girl came downstairs.
When police asked him how the girl knew which pornographic Web sites he was on, Gesin replied that she must have seen the screen on his cell phone. Gesin denied that he had any sexual contact with the girl or that he had any naked pictures of her.
Police said a search warrant was obtained and executed on the cell phone. Pennsylvania State Police then conducted a forensic examination of the cell phone, which turned up an inappropriate picture of the girl; it had been taken on the date and time coinciding with the girl’s report to police.
