State police at Punxsutawney
- An incident of theft by deception occurred sometime between Dec. 11, 2010 and Jan. 2, 2015 on the Dowler Highway in Burnside Township. During the incident, the victim alleged that two known people used his checking account for their own personal expenses.
- An incident of DUI occurred June 29 on Route 36 in Punxsutawney Borough. During a traffic stop, state police allegedly found a known female to be driving under the influence.
Lawrence Township
- Police received several reports about males who were allegedly soliciting at the intersection of Supercenter Drive and the Clearfield – Shawville Highway.
- Police received a report about an alleged disorderly male at the Comfort Inn. However, he was gone upon police arrival to the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft that occurred at a township residence. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
- Police received a report about an alarm at Northwest Savings Bank on River Road. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft at the Economy Inn. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of child abuse on Turnpike Avenue. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct at the Comfort Inn.
- Police allegedly observed a suspicious vehicle with out-of-state plates while on patrol at the entrance of the Clearfield Alliance Church.
- Police allegedly observed a second vehicle in the parking lot of the Clearfield Alliance Church.
- Police responded to assist a motorist at Sheetz.
DuBois City
- Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Thursday at the intersection of Liberty Boulevard and Beaver Drive. A Chrysler passenger vehicle and International flatbed truck were both traveling south on Liberty Boulevard and attempting to use the center turning lane; however, both collided prior to the intersection with Beaver Drive. Both vehicles sustained minor damage; officers performed an accident exchange for both operators. No injuries were reported at the scene, police said.
- On Thursday police were dispatched to the intersection of Shaffer Avenue and Pifer Street, where two, small children were allegedly playing on the roadway. Police were advised that one of the children was nearly struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival to the area, police were unable to locate the children, and a neighbor stated he hadn’t seen any small children playing in the roadway.
- Police received a report about an alleged suspicious female who was walking through an apartment complex Thursday in the 200 block of South Brady Street. Police were advised that the female didn’t live in any of the apartments. Upon searching the area, police located the female on North Jared Street and determined she was trying to visit a friend in the apartment complex. She told police that her friend had asked her to leave.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly intoxicated and who had wrecked his bicycle into a wall Thursday in the area of East Scribner Avenue and Rose Ally. Police were advised that the male was laying in the grass and may have sustained injuries. Upon arrival police made contact with the male who stated he’d been riding his bicycle down the sidewalk on East Scribner Avenue when he wrecked into the rock wall. Police said the male complained of hip pain and was transported to Penn Highlands by emergency personnel.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday a 48-year-old Circle Road man alleged that his 56-year-old neighbor has been harassing his fiancée and his daughter by calling them obscene names. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- On Wednesday a 35-year-old Quarry Avenue man was charged with retail theft after he was allegedly caught by Wal-Mart employees attempting to leave the store with four cases of soda and baby wipes without paying for them.
- On Thursday a 24-year-old Treasure Lake man called police when his 48-year-old mother allegedly became intoxicated and was fighting with him. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- A 15-year-old Reynoldsville girl was attempting to move a vehicle at a Treasure Lake residence when it hit a 16-year-old DuBois girl and pinned her against a parked vehicle, injuring her leg on Thursday. The 16-year-old was transported to Penn Highlands and then flown to another hospital for treatment; the 15-year-old has been cited, police said.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a Place Road building.
- Police received a report of a 911 hang-up call from a cell phone in the vicinity of Showers road. Officers checked the area and could not locate the source of the call.
- A 51-year-old Treasure Lake woman reported receiving a pre-recorded message on her answering machine requesting her credit card information on Thursday. The woman recognized the call as a scam, police said.
