CLEARFIELD — The committee organizing the 21st Annual Clearfield “Past-Your-Prime” Modified Fast-Pitch Men’s Softball Tournament is hoping at least one more team will enter the event for players 40-and older.
Seven teams, one less than last year, have committed to the double-elimination, wood bat tourney at Bucky Strunk Memorial Field August 15 and 16.
Hitters begin their at-bats with a 1-1 count.
The entry fee is $100, and any interested team should have a representative call Jerry Bickel at 590-1399.
All proceeds go to area youth, with the Clearfield-based U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. William L. Dixon Detachment one of the recipients for its “Toys for Tots” program.
Individuals or business wishing to donate food or beverages for the concession stand or prizes for a fund-raiser also should contact Bickel.
The Bedford Over-The-Hillbillies have claimed the championship trophy three of last four years, with Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub of Clearfield breaking through in 2012 for its second outright title.
