LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP – The Lawrence Township Fire Company No. 5 was alerted about an accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer Monday on Interstate 80 eastbound, according to fire officials.
Command, Engine and Rescue 5 responded to the scene, where a tractor-trailer had overturned after rear-ending a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation truck, which was painting lines on I-80 at the time of the accident.
Crews assisted emergency personnel with patient extrication, traffic control and fluid mitigation. The PennDOT truck sustained major damage to the impact attenuator on its rear, fire officials said.
Crews remained on the scene for approximately one-and-a-half hours.
