Donald Harvey Leonard, 73, of Grampian died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Feb. 5, 1942 in Clearfield, he was the son of Kenneth B. and Mildred (Peoples) Leonard.
Mr. Leonard had first worked in the White House as a Presidential Secretary for 11 years under the Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon Administrations. He was retired from the North American Refractories Company.
He was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church, Luthersburg. He was a former member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M.
On Sept. 21, 1963 in Washington D.C., he wed the former Mary Hanley. She survives.
He is also survived by five children, Donald H. Leonard Jr. and his wife, Lisa and Thomas P. Leonard, both of Grampian; Deborah M. Condon and her husband, Ronald of Olanta; Kenneth M. Leonard and his wife, Amanda of Falls Creek; and Christina A. Wise and her husband, Terry of Mill Run.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother, Norma Bowman and her husband, Charles and Kenneth W. Leonard and his wife, Jean, both of Curwensville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jerremy; and a daughter-in-law, Tammy Bennett.
Services for Mr. Leonard will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Wood Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
