Rita A. Jacobson, 72, of Glen Richey died on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at UPMC Altoona.
She was born Jan. 19, 1943 in Clearfield as the daughter of Hjalmer Verdnell and Mary (Triponey) Jacobson.
She was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church, Glen Richey. She worked for Kent Sportswear in Curwensville as a seamstress until her retirement.
She was a member of the Clearfield Hobby Garden Club, Ladies Aide Society of the church and the Glen Richey Fire Company Auxiliary. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers and painting ceramics.
She is survived by a niece, Suzette Smith of Glen Richey with whom she resided; one brother, George Jacobson and his wife, Suzann of Glen Richey; one sister, Lois Mitchell and her husband, Richard of Glen Richey; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ronald H. Jacobson, Mary Joan Smith and John V. Jacobson; maternal grandparents, Lucian and Ruth Triponey; paternal grandparents, Herman and Bessie Jacobson; and nephews, Aaron L. Jacobson and Ryan M. Jacobson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, with the Rev. Duane Stiner officiating.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park.
