Joseph Syktich Sr., 79, of Clearfield died Friday, July 3, 2015 at his daughter’s home under the care of hospice.
Born May 19, 1936 in Fernwood, he was the son of the late John and Nancy (Mocnoal) Syktich.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a machinist for General Electric. He was a member of the local Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) and American Legion.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Rose K. Syktich (Luda); two sons, Christopher Syktich of San Diego, Calif., and Joseph Syktich of Curwensville; and two daughters, Anne M. Tressler of Tobyhanna and Nancy L. Syktich of Clearfield.
He is also survived by two sisters, Ann Ribelli of Ohio and Estella Vreeland of New Jersey; a brother, Michael Syktich of Dubois; and three grandchildren, Christopher J. Foster, Cierra J. Kephart and Aubrie E. Syktich.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Muhaw and Catherine Ordwein and six brothers, Charles, Harry, Stanley, Sam, John and David Syktich.
Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Ramey.
Burial will follow in the St. Vladimir Orthodox Cemetery, Ramey.
