A memorial Service for Ward and Marybell Mays will be held at 4 p.m. July 5 at the Ramey United Methodist Church with Pastors Clare Pannebaker and Dennis McCracken officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ramey United Methodist Church, P.O. Box, Ramey, PA 16671.
Obituary Notice: Marybell Mays
Marybell Mays, 92, of Ramey died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at her home.
Born Oct. 17, 1922 in Irvona, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus Harper Stephens and Ruth (Holes) Stephens Barto.
She married the late Ward Mays on Jan. 1, 1944 at her home in Irvona.
She was a member of Ramey United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, James Saupp; a brother, Thaddeus Stephens; and four sisters, Sydna Johnston, Margaret Diehl, Miriam Stephens and Naomi Ruth Stephens.
She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Marie (Wayne) Fox of Ramey, Jane (William) Zapsky of Madera and Ruth (Larry) Saupp of Smithmill and three sisters, Norma Christie, Myrtle Alexander and Kathryn Dubois.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, David Zapsky, Mark Fox and Susan Hiatt, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a talented artist who enjoyed many years of quilting for her church and her family. She was also an excellent cook whose pie crust will be remembered by many.
In her early years, she worked at home doing alterations. She was a very skilled seamstress. She was a very talented woman who will be missed by all her knew her.
Services are entrusted to Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Madera.
