CLEARFIELD– Central PA Community Action (CPCA) is announcing their Fourth Annual Night Golf Tournament to be held at the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club in Clearfield, PA on Friday, August 14, 2015. The Night Golf Tournament will start registration at 7 p.m. and golfing will begin about 8 p.m. The tournament will include nine holes of golf with glow in the dark golf balls, glow tees, and lighted fairways. Registration will be $65 per golfer and $250 for a team of four and will include golf, cart rental, a picnic dinner, and opportunities to win pro-shop credits, other prizes and lots of fun. This year we are having a beach theme so come in your beach attire and play golf and relax.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Prom Closet located at the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield and hosted by Central PA Community Action, Inc. (CPCA). The Prom Closet is operated solely on donations and is a self-declared need, there are no income guidelines. The mission of the program is to assist area high school students obtain prom attire. Purchasing a prom gown or renting a tuxedo can be very expensive and families who are already living paycheck to paycheck, or on a limited income, often are unable to afford the additional costs.
Over the past eleven (11) prom seasons The Prom Closet has assisted 1,006 area students with prom dress, accessories, jewelry, shoes and tuxedo rentals.
If you find you’re unable to come and join in the fun then donations of gowns, tuxedos, shoes, small purses, rhinestone or costume jewelry and accessories would be greatly appreciated. Donated dresses and tuxedos are received at CPCA or Chubby’s One Hour Cleaners in Clearfield. When you donate your dress or tuxedo at Chubby’s One Hour Cleaners a 15% discount card will be given for your next dry cleaning item.
All other items will be received, during prom season, at the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield, 119 North 2nd Street, located across from the Clearfield Post Office. If you or your business would be interested in becoming a community partner, please contact Melissa Henry at CPCA.
