CLEARFIELD — Tuesday morning rains made the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 baseball team’s Central Penn League home game against Philipsburg a washout with no makeup date.
Manager Sid Lansberry announced that two previous postponements have been scheduled, July 3 against Huntingdon and July 5 against Altoona, both at home.
The Chiefs (3-5) will be go to Beech Creek (8-0) Thursday for a CPL game that kicks off a busy weekend with at least four games in the Bellefonte Bandits Wood Bat Tournament.
They‘re paired against the PA Lightning at 12:30 p.m. and Piper/Davis RBI of Maryland at 3 at Philipsburg Friday and TBW Select of Maryland at 12:30 p.m. and Williamsport Wildpitch at 3 at the State College Community Field Saturday.
The top four teams will advance to the Sunday morning semifinals, with the championship game booked for 1 p.m. at Medlar Field, home of State College Spikes and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
