State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Thursday on the Woodland-Bigler Highway in Bradford Township. Both Tiffani S. Wagner of Osceola Mills and Kenneth E. Laughman of York were traveling eastbound. The Wagner vehicle rear-ended Laughman’s commercial vehicle. Upon impact the Wagner vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and up an embankment; when it returned to the roadway, it rear-ended Laughman’s commercial vehicle again. Upon impact the second time, the Wagner vehicle crossed over the westbound lane and up an embankment. Wagner was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries by private vehicle. Laughman wasn’t injured in the accident. Both were wearing their seatbelts; Wagner was cited for the accident, state police said.
State police at Punxsutawney
- An incident of theft occurred sometime May 15-20 on Alliance Drive in Young Township. During the incident, someone allegedly used the victim’s credit card to make unauthorized charges. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police were dispatched to Lower Witmer Park while a female had been sitting there all day. Police spoke to the female who lives in the area and found she was OK.
- Police responded to North Second Street to unlock a vehicle for its owner.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with an incident on Coal Hill Road. Further, police stopped a vehicle and detained a male until Lawrence Township police responded to the scene.
- Police handled an alleged incident of harassment by communications that occurred along Turnpike Avenue.
- Police were dispatched to East Pine Street, where someone was allegedly screaming in the area. Police searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.
- Police were dispatched to Zimmerman Avenue, where someone was allegedly standing in the caller’s yard. Upon police arrival, the person had left the scene.
- Police were dispatched to East Cherry Street for a noise complaint. Police were unable to locate the source of the noise.
- Police received a report about a vehicle allegedly being damaged while it was parked along the 400 block of East Cherry Street.
- Police arrested a male for an alleged protection from abuse order violation. He was arrested and transported to the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police received a report about items allegedly being removed from a yard at a residence along Bigler Avenue.
- Police assisted with a psychological emergency at a residence along Spruce Street. Further, a male was transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police were dispatched to South Fourth Street, where items were allegedly removed from a vehicle.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged neighbor dispute over a baseball in Hyde. It was later resolved, police said.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a male in the Golden Rod area. Upon arrival police located the male at Dairy Queen and everything was OK.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred at the Clearfield Area Elementary School.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of access device fraud. The incident remains under investigation with charges pending at this time, police said.
- Police received a request for information regarding a PFA.
- Police received information about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred at the Lawrence Park Village. Further, police found that a 9-year-old girl had allegedly punched and pulled the hair of another girl. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police responded to numerous 911 hang-up calls from an inactivated cell phone around Interstate 80. Police searched the area but couldn’t determine the source of the calls. Police noted the calls stopped after their search of the area.
- Police received a report about an alleged group of disorderly individuals who were fighting at a local bar on the Clearfield – Shawville Highway.
- Police received a report about a motorcycle accident involving a deer.
DuBois City
- Police were dispatched to the 100 block of West Washington Avenue for a runaway juvenile on Thursday. Police said that the juvenile was located a short time later in a Sheetz store in Sandy Township. Police returned the juvenile to his parents without further incident. Sandy Township police assisted with the incident.
- Police were dispatched to an alleged domestic disturbance Thursday on East Long Avenue. Police said the individuals decided to separate for the night; police cleared the scene without incident.
- Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Thursday at the intersection of DuBois and New streets. Further, a Honda CRV was turning left from New Street onto DuBois Street when it was struck by a Ford Escape that was traveling north on DuBois Street. No injuries and minor damage were reported, police said. Police were assisted at the scene by the Penn State University police.
- Police were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of West Washington Avenue, where a male was allegedly throwing rocks at a window. While speaking to the male, police detected a strong odor marijuana. When asked the male allegedly told police that he had marijuana in his pants pocket. After placing the male under arrest for the drug violation, police allegedly found more drugs and paraphernalia in his possession. He was then transported to the Clearfield County Jail, where he was detained on a probation violation. Police said that multiple drug charges were filed against the male.
Sandy Township
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Miller Brothers on Wednesday.
- On Wednesday a tire fell off of a truck, which caused it to travel off the roadway into a grassy median, in the area of Blinker Parkway and Watson Highway. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- While on patrol Wednesday, police located garbage scattered on Breck Road. Upon investigation police determined that it belonged to a 45-year-old Treasure Lake man who agreed to clean up the area in lieu of charges being filed against him. Police will continue to patrol the area for future offenders.
- On Thursday a Forsyth Road resident reported that vehicles were being driven up and down the road at high rates of speed at all times of day. Police will monitor the area.
- On Thursday a Hungry Hollow Road resident reported a truck driven by a juvenile had trespassed on their property and was now stuck on a log. Upon arrival police handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Aldis on Thursday.
