Felony Aggravated Assault Charge Gets Dismissed
CLEARFIELD – Ronald J. Timko, 65, of Clearfield had charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment held for court after a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
A felony aggravated assault charge was dismissed at Timko’s hearing, according to online court documents. His bail remained set at $25,000 unsecured.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Clearfield Borough police were dispatched to the Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital in reference to an alleged assault on May 19. Upon arrival police learned that Timko and the victim had allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation at their residence.
The victim alleged that she and Timko were seated on opposite couches in their living area. She alleged that he got up and came over to her, grabbing her right wrist. She alleged that Timko kept twisting her wrist and then put his closed fist on her mouth while telling her to shut up.
Police allegedly observed significant swelling to the victim’s right wrist.
During the incident, the victim also alleged that Timko threw her to the ground in their kitchen area, which caused a left elbow injury.
According to the affidavit, the victim told police that she feared for her life when Timko had his fist against her mouth. She said after he threw her to the ground, he walked away and she escaped through the back door. Afterward the victim said that she called for a ride to the hospital.
Police interviewed Timko and he provided the same account of the alleged incident as the victim. He was taken into custody and transported to the police department. Timko was then taken to the CCJ.
