DUBOIS – Organizer Jeff Baronick submitted annual requests and shared plans for the upcoming DuBois Community Days festival with the DuBois City Council on Tuesday night.
Community Days is hosted annually by the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department. Each year, the department requests assistance in the form of road crews and police to ensure the festival goes smoothly.
“It is a free event. All of the money that we raise goes back into it. It isn’t a fundraiser,” said Baronick. He said the annual festival isn’t “about making money” and even food vendors are required to be a non-profit.
According to him, festival events will include: Johnny Angel and the Halos; a two-person “secret circus” with an espionage theme and a Texas-based and one-man western show. He said there will also be a bear-focused educational and entertainment show.
He also mentioned that DuBois Community Days will feature a sports talk show with several former football players. He said plans for the parade are in place, and there are 10 high school bands signed up for participation this year.
DuBois Community Days will be held June 12-13.
