Verna Jean Panciera, 84, of Philipsburg died Monday, May 25, 2015 at her residence. Born Oct. 6, 1930 in Distant, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lula (Mae) Gould.
She was Protestant by faith. She had been employed by the General Cigar Factory of Philipsburg until her retirement.
She was married to William J. Panciera on Nov. 25, 1949 in Distant. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1998.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Panciera was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. She was the last of her generation.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Jean Herr and her husband, William of Philipsburg and Beverly Ann Condon and her husband, Joseph of Cleveland, Ohio.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Wynn “J.R.” Gallaher and his wife, Jodi of Winburne, Joseph R. Condon and his wife, Shannon of Cleveland, Ohio and Peggy Sue Marty and her husband, Gary Jr. and Amanda Lynn Thompson and her husband, Arnie Joe, both of Philipsburg, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
At Mrs. Panciera’s request, there will neither be a public visitation nor a funeral service.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
