Mary Lee Herr, 82, of Curwensville died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at her residence after a brief illness. Born Aug. 2, 1932 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Stephen and Virginia (McLaughlin) Miller.
Mrs. Herr was retired as a secretary for Kurtz Bros. School Supplies in Clearfield. She was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She also was a member of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Curwensville.
On Sept. 20, 1952 in Curwensville, she wed Eldon Herr. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Miller.
Surviving are two nieces who she considered daughters as she’d raised them from a young age, Lisa Gasper and her husband, George of Curwensville and Amy Hollback of New Jersey.
Surviving are three great-nieces and nephews who she considered grandchildren, Mason, Hayden and Marlee Gasper. Also surviving is a brother, Edward Miller of Florida.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation.
A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville with the Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant.
Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
The family suggests contributions be made to the St. Timothy Altar and Rosary Society, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville, PA 16833.
