BLOOM TOWNSHIP – DuBois-based state police say a fatal crash occurred Wednesday morning on Route 219, on Chestnut Grove Highway, in Bloom Township, Clearfield County.
According to state police, around 11:25 a.m., a 56-year-old Wayne Eugene Doane of Grampian was traveling south on Route 219, and for an unknown reason, his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado traveled across the roadway onto the eastern berm.
State police say the pick-up continued to travel in a southern direction for approximately 20 feet where its front end struck a tree head-on, coming to a rest.
Doane was transported to Penn Highlands Regional Medical Center, according to state police. The report indicates Doane is deceased; however, no additional information was provided.
The Silverado was severely damaged and was towed from the scene. Brady Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
