Corporal Cameron Jared “Cam” Kelly, 23, of Savannah, Ga. was called home Thursday, May 7, 2015, in Savannah, Ga. as a result of injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Clearfield on Dec. 25, 1991, he was the son of Joseph Patrick Kelly and Lisa Kaye Crownover Kelly.
He was a 2010 graduate of the DuBois Area High School, where he lettered in football and track. He was a Special Olympics volunteer while in high school.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was honorably discharged from the service in June of 2014.
He was employed at Dorsey Tire and recently graduated from Southeast Lineman Training Center on April 15, 2015. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and riding on any dirt road he could find.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Joseph Patrick Kelly Jr.; his wife, Shannon, and their son Joseph Scott Kelly of Clearfield; his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Sue Kelly of Savannah, Ga. and Janet and Jack Quinn of Central City; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Stanley and Thelda Crownover.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
Due to Mr. Kelly’s love of the outdoors, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Edward V. Cherry Amphitheatre in the DuBois City Park with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.
Seating will be provided; however, you may bring your own seating if you wish.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard in the city park.
